Joe Biden, the President of the United States, ordered states to expand the vaccine eligibility to Americans eighteen or older by 19th April, two weeks earlier than the previously announced deadline 1st May. Until now, no coronavirus vaccine authorized yet for children under sixteen, although the progress of the testing is underway. Most American states already announced that they would make available vaccines to all adults by that new deadline.
Biden says at a White House event that they are going to find out several people to save or lose in April, May, and June, before it gets to July 4th. Over eighty percent of teachers and other school staff received at least one shot of the vaccination but noted that strains of the COVID-19 are spreading the rise in total cases.
Biden says that they are not at the finish line and still a lot of work to do. The country is still in a life-or-death race. He adds that by no later than 19th April, every adult eighteen or older will be eligible to receive the vaccination. Jen Psaki, a White House spokeswoman, said that the president’s announcement confirmed the eligibility for everyone across the country. She added that it means U.S. nationals no longer need to check their eligibility with the local and state websites.
Coronavirus vaccine supplies and efficiency in getting jabs into public arms increased significantly in the race to get more adults inoculated as more transmittable COVID-19 variants circulate in the country.
100 million shots into people’s arms with Biden first 100 days
Ron Klain, the White House chief of staff, tweeted that Governors – Republicans and Democrats – are working with the White House coronavirus response team to speed up the vaccination program.
Just to be clear — in all 50 states, ANY adult can get vaccinated in their home state. The point is that EVERY state is open to all of ITS adults as of April 19.

When the coronavirus vaccine dose supply was short, states initially restrict distribution to high-risk groups, like front-line healthcare workers and the elderly people, and then slowly opened up vaccines to other groups and ages at risk. After the inauguration in January, Biden aimed to deliver a hundred million vaccine shots into the arms of people within his first hundred days in office, such as the April end. However, the administration now doubled the goal to two hundred million.

Coronavirus killed over 556000 people in the U.S. – the highest COVID-19 death toll in the world. Until now, over 167 million doses administered in the country. Four in ten nationals have had at least one dose of vaccine, well ahead of most countries. The approved vaccines from Pfizer/BioNTech both require two doses, whereas Johnson & Johnson vaccine requires only one shot of the vaccine.
Moreover, the Pfizer vaccine approved for those aged sixteen and more, whereas the other two authorized for adults aged eighteen and older. American vaccine distribution started tentatively under Donald Trump, the predecessor of Biden.
