America is in Unnecessary Predicament on COVID-19 – Fauci

Fauci said that the U.S. is in an “unnecessary predicament” of increasing coronavirus cases fueled by unvaccinated American nationals

The United States Headed in Wrong Direction on COVID-19 – Fauci

The United States’ top infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, said Sunday that the U.S. is in an unnecessary difficulty of mounting coronavirus cases fueled by the pandemic of unvaccinated American nationals along with the contagious delta variant. Fauci said the U.S. was going in the wrong direction and described himself as very upset.

Furthermore, the chief medical advisor to President Joe Biden said while recommending that the vaccinated people wear face masks is under active consideration of the top public health officials of the government. He also suggested people with suppressed immune systems who received vaccination for booster shots.

The U.S. National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases director told the State of the Union of CNN that he participated in talks about altering the face mask guidelines. Fauci noted that some local authorities where infections rates are increasing, such as Los Angeles County, already requested people to wear face masks in indoor public spaces irrespective of their vaccination status.

Will Vaccinated People Need to Wear Facemasks?

He said that those local guidelines are compatible with the CDC approval that the inoculated don’t need to wear face masks in public. Furthermore, over one hundred and sixty-three million individuals, or forty-nine percent of the total United States population, are fully vaccinated, according to the statistics of CDC. Of those appropriate for the coronavirus vaccine, aged twelve and over, the figure increases to fifty-seven percent.

Dr. Fauci said government experts are reviewing initial statistics as they consider whether to approve inoculated people to receive COVID-19 vaccine booster shots. Additionally, he suggested that some of the weakest, such as cancer and organ transplant patients, are likely to recommend booster vaccination shots.

Fauci also praised Republican leaders, including Governors Ron DeSantis of Florida and Asa Hutchinson of Arkansas, and the 2nd-ranking House leader, Representative Steve Scalise of Louisiana, for encouraging their residents to receive the vaccination. Both states of the country have among the lowest vaccination rates in the U.S.
