Biden says Trump refusal to concede is an ’embarrassment’

Joe Biden has said President Donald Trump’s refusal to not concede in Presidential elections is “an embarrassment”. But the US President-elect who has confirmed making contacts with foreign leaders, instead nothing would stop the transition. As happens every four years, US media declared the projected winner of the last week’s election. None of the state-by-state results have yet been verified with several outstanding vote counts still under process. The final outcome will not be declared until US Electoral College meets on Dec 14, 2020.

What did Biden Say?

The President-elect was questioned by a reporter on Tuesday what he though of his Republican rival’s stance.

“I just think it’s an embarrassment, quite frankly,” Biden, a Democrat, said in Wilmington, Delaware.

“The only thing that, how can I say this tactfully, I think it will not help the president’s legacy.”

“At the end of the day, you know, it’s all going to come to fruition on January 20,” he added, referring to inauguration day.

Biden has been making phone calls to foreign leaders as he prepares to take the White House. French President Emmanuel Macron, UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson, German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Irish Taoiseach Micheál Martin were among the leaders he fielded phone calls with on Tuesday. Referring to those calls, Biden said: “I’m letting them know that America is back. We’re going to be back in the game.”

But as Biden and his VP-elect prepare to assume the charge, a little less-legitimate Trump administration tried to stall the transfer of power.  The General Services Administration manages funding and access to federal department for incoming administrations. However, it has declined to officially recognize Democrat as President-elect. Nevertheless, the Democrat said: “We don’t see anything slowing us down, quite frankly.”
