Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. (OBJ) is ruled out of the season after sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Beckham Jr. 27 suffered the ACL tear in the first quarter of the game against Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday which Cleveland won. According to the club the wide receiver was diagnosed with the tear in his left knee after an MRI on Monday. Reports suggest the injury will likely require injury sidelining the star player for between 6 to 9 months.
“I am probably going to beat myself up about that one for a long time,” said Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield.
“He is a guy who fights for this team, and in doing that, he got hurt. Prayers and hopes for the best. That one sucks.”
Beckham who picked the injury while attempting to chase down Cincinnati CB Darius Phillips on an inception return, is a 3-time Pro Bowler, caught 23 passes for 319 yeads and 3 touchdowns in his present campaign. He also rushed 3 times for 72 years and a touchdown and concluded his only pass attempt for 18 yards.
The Browns are currently third in the AFC North after earning 5 victories and losing two games this season.
