Georgia and Texas Announced Opening of Vaccination for General Public

According to the governors of Georgia and Texas, both states will open up COVID-19 vaccinations to the general public in the coming few days. After the announcement on Tuesday, they became the latest states to announce plans and intentions to vaccinate all adults before the Joe Biden imposed deadline of 1st May. Moreover, the Texas state will open up the vaccination to all adults starting 29th March, though the plan will still prioritize those ages eighty an older when scheduling appointments.

Georgia will start vaccination eligibility for all people over age sixteen beginning Thursday. Jim Justice, the Governor of West Virginia, said on Monday that any resident age sixteen will now be eligible to receive the vaccination. Arizona State also opened up eligibility criteria at state-run coronavirus vaccination sites in Yuma, Maricopa, and Pima counties to anyone age sixteen and older, starting 24th March. Larry Hogan, the Governor of Maryland, said on Thursday that the vaccination availability would open just ahead of the deadline of Biden after the state initially opens eligibility to residents over age fifty-five, essential workers, and those with underlying severe health conditions.

Massachusetts will expand the vaccination access to everyone over age sixteen starting 19th April. Moreover, Montana will open eligibility to the general public starting 1st April. Ohio State will expand vaccine eligibility based on an anticipated increase in supply starting 29th March. Likewise, Iowa will expand access to the coronavirus vaccine to the general public starting 5th April, according to the announcement of Governor Kim Reynolds. Mississippi Governor Tate Reeves also opened up the vaccination criteria for everyone starting 16th March, after lately expanding it to cover people aged fifty and above.
