According to U.S. officials, the United States will likely host talks of over forty countries on Tuesday regarding the Ukraine crisis that will focus on arming Ukrainian forces so that they can defend their country against potentially deceived Russian invasion in the east. Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Mark Milley, said that the key goal of the dialogs was to coordinate and synchronize growing security assistance to Ukraine that includes heavy weaponry, such as armed drones, howitzer, and ammunition. Milley told reporters that the next many weeks would be too much critical. So instead, they sought continued support to be successful on the battleground.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov and NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg are likely to attend the talks. But, on the other hand, Blinken said that Russia failed in terms of Russian war aims, and Ukraine already succeeded because the critical goal that Russian President Vladimir Putin brought to this, in his own words, was to thoroughly consider Kyiv back into Russia, to take away its independence and sovereignty.
Russian Latest Attacks on Ukrainian Cities
This Monday, Russia launched new attacks on Ukraine, hitting fuel installations and rail facilities far from the front line of its eastern offensive. According to the statement of the chief of the state-run Ukrainian Railways, Russian forces hit five railway facilities early Monday in western and central Ukraine. Moscow also launched a missile attack near the western city of Lviv. Moreover, Ukrainian officials said that the Russian strikes killed around five people in the central Vynnytsia region.
Austin and Blinken met with President Zelensky and other Ukrainian officials for around three hours to vow American support and hear from the president what Ukraine needs as the conflict moves forward. Blinken said that the U.S. wants to do everything to help the Ukrainian people bring the Russian violence to an end on the best likely terms as soon as possible.
A senior United States official said that the train ride to the Ukrainian capital for top United States officials’ Sunday talks with Zelensky took eleven hours on one side. On Monday, the Ukrainian president’s office said that the discussions included security guarantees as well as financial and economic aid for the country. Zelensky noted that they understand the subsequent steps in this way.
