United President Donald Trump has tested negative for the Covid-19, the WH physician has said.
“This evening I received confirmation that the test is negative,” Sean Conley said in a statement on Saturday. Trump was screened days after attending a meeting at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida with a Brazilian delegation some of whom have tested for the novel coronavirus.
Fabio Wajngarten, press secretary of Brazilian president was among those tested positive for the virus.
“One week after having dinner with the Brazilian delegation in Mar-a-Lago, the president remains symptom-free,” Mr. Conley said. Trump, 73 didn’t self-quarantine after hosting the meeting at the resort maintaining that he had no symptoms. Overwhelmed with the questions about his corona status, the President agreed to get screened. He was tested on Friday, the white House physician said.
“I have been in daily contact with the CDC [Centers for Disease Control and Prevention] and White House Coronavirus Task Force, and we are encouraging the implementation of all their best practices for exposure reduction and transmission mitigation,” Mr Conley’s statement said.
Official advisory for the people crossing paths or having physical contact with the confirmed case is to self-quarantine at home for 14 days. United States has now over 2,700 registered coronavirus cases and 54 deaths. On Friday, President Donald Trump declared a national state of emergency to release USD 50 billion to combat with the deadly disease.

Meanwhile in the United Kingdom, health minister and Conservative MP Nadine Dorries has also caught the virus and has confirmed her self-isolation at home. 10 more people in UK have died of the outbreak in past 24 hours bringing the tally to 21. As of now, Iran and South Korea in the Asia are the worst-hit countries with over 14,000 and 8,000+ cases respectively. The death toll in Iran has crossed 600 according to the official figures.
