Two people killed and eight injured in Virginia Beach

According to the Virginia police, two individuals killed and at least eight injured at several shooting scenes late Friday night nearby the oceanfront in Virginia Beach, Va. It was the most recent crime incidence of deadly gun violence in the United States. Moreover, police officers heard several gunshots at about 11:30 pm, the Virginia Beach Police Department stated in a press release.

When the officers initially arrived at the crime scene, they found one female victim’s dead body. Whereas they transported eight other victims to the local hospital, who had gunshot wounds and injuries that ranged from serious to life-threatening. Earlier Saturday, Virginia Beach PD said that they didn’t yet receive any information about the suspect and that the Homicide Unit of the Department was investigating the incident.

Furthermore, officers responded to the first mass shooting, gunfire break out at a second location in the same city, resulting in a dead body of an unidentified male being shot and killed by a police officer. The VBPD announces that the police officer is a five-year employee of the department, and they will initiate administrative assignments pending the outcome of the investigation, which is a standard procedure.

Virginia Beach Police Chief Paul Neudigate said that they witnessed a very chaotic incident on the beach. On Monday, ten people shot dead, including a police officer in Boulder, Colorado, at a supermarket. The accused assassin, Ahmad Al Aliwi Alissa, 21, was armed with a military-style semiautomatic rifle and a handgun.

“Common Sense” Gun Legislation

On Wednesday, police arrested an individual wearing body armor at an Atlanta supermarket with a shotgun, semiautomatic rifle, and four handguns. Earlier this week, Joe Biden called on the Senate in a press conference to pass common-sense gun law that would include prohibiting assault weapons and close background check loopholes. Biden said that this should not be a partisan issue at that time – it is an American issue.

Back in 2019, a long-time worker of a public utility firm in Virginia Beach, Va., killed twelve people in a government building. The incident also left five injured, but police killed the gunman in a shootout. On Wednesday, police officials released a report that revealed that the authorities could not find a motive in that shooting. In spite of comprehensive investigative work and despite unproven reports and accusations, it appears they may never know why the culprit, forty-year-old DeWayne Craddock, committed this terrible act, according to the city police.
