Ebrahim Raisi, the President of Iran, addressed the second death anniversary ceremony of late General Qassem Soleimani. He said that the former United States President Donald Trump must face trial for the assassination of the Iranian General; otherwise, Tehran would take revenge. Iran and its allied groups in Iraq and other nations hold events to honor the deceased general, the head of the Quds Force.

Raisi said in a Monday speech that if former President Trump and his then-Secretary of State Mike Pompeo do not undergo a fair court trial for the criminal act of killing General Soleimani, Muslims will take revenge on the martyr.

He added that the assassin, aggressor, and main culprit – Trump – must face trial and be judged under the Islamic law of revenge, and the ruling of Allah must be carried out against him. Under the Islamic rules of Iran, a convicted killer can face execution unless the victim’s family agrees to take blood money through a reconciliation.
According to Prosecutor-General Mohammad Jafar Montazeri, Iran’s judicial officials communicated with authorities in nine nations after finding one hundred and twenty-seven suspects in the murder case, including seventy-four American nationals. He said that the criminal Trump is at the top of the suspect list.

Iranian media said that Iran insisted the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) in an official letter to hold the U.S. and Israel to account, which it says was also behind the assassination of Soleimani. Some days after the killing, the U.S. told the United Nations that the killing of Iran’s commander was self-defense.

General William Barr, the then United States Attorney General, said that the former U.S. president had the authority to kill General Soleimani because he was a legitimate military target.
