Her joke came after Harris told electrical engineering graduates that they would have an obligation to convert solar & wind energy into “combat power.” She also said during the speech that you are electrical engineers, and you will soon help convert wind and solar energy into power, convert wind and solar energy into combat power.
On Twitter, critics said that solar panels still require batteries to store energy because panels collect energy from sunlight. Furthermore, the speech of the vice president also discussed cybersecurity, climate change, and the COVID-19 pandemic. Harris warned that cyber crimes such as the recent Colonial Pipeline ransomware attack could show the latest frontier in global conflicts.
She further added that a deadly coronavirus pandemic could spread all across the world in just a matter of months. A group of hackers can disrupt the fuel supply globally. One carbon emission of one country can threaten the sustainability of the whole world.
Kamala Harris, the vice president became the First Woman to Deliver Address at Navy Academy Ceremony
Harris was also honored to become the first woman who delivers an important address at a Navy Academy ceremony. At present, women and servicemen depend on high-tech lithium-ion batteries for sensors, weapons, and other devices during night operations. According to the White House official, before her address, the vice president spoke with the first Black woman to serve as a brigade commander at the academy, Midshipman First Class Sydney Barber.

The prestigious brigade role in the academy serves as a class president of sorts as Barber directs the students’ body. Furthermore, the official added that the vice president has a pair of shoulder boards of Barber in her ceremonial office as well, placed three after the vice president was sworn in.
Last week, in a private zoom meeting, which the vice president office will release Saturday as a part of the weekly address series of the White House, the pair spoke about the experience of Barber at the academy and her future plan. Kalama Harris issued a type of call of action, signaling the graduates to defend the country and make other historical advances.
